Job Description
As a Cost Analyst, you are key to identifying improvements to Wavenet’s overall profit figures, which is crucial for the success of Wavenet’s growth plans. We are seeking an analytical-minded individual who has similar experience or comes from a purchase ledger background. The role will be a crucial one for Wavenet and a great opportunity to experience a wide range of activities and knowledge of the workings of the business. You will come into contact with various stakeholders and will be able to directly influence margin improvement and cost savings.
This role will ensure the tidiness of Wavenet’s cost base by carefully reconciling large volumes of data, which is then reflected in the billing system. You will work closely with other departments to ensure everything is billed onwards or that services have been closed down efficiently and on time, highlighting any process improvements to relevant teams by identifying certain trends. Due to the volume of transactions, the candidate must have strong knowledge of Excel and be keen to explore systems to extract the right data sets.

Responsibilities (but not limited to):
* Develop & perform a monthly reconciliation routine for all group carriers for recurring services including:
o Broadband Rentals (Primary)
o WLR (BT Services)
o Hosted Services
o Call Charges
o Other Monthly Services
* Ensure cost & supplier data is correct in Symbill, our backoffice billing system, including:
o Cost Price
o Supplier Name
o Correct Product Name
o Supplier Reference
* Ensure all one-off event billing from carriers is recorded and recharged appropriately to the customer, including setup fees, engineering fees, and cease fees.
* Conduct investigation analysis to determine why a product hasn’t been charged, what customer the product belongs to, and whether it should be cancelled.
* Work closely with the billing team, provisioning, operational, commercial, and sales teams, especially for investigation analysis. Communication between departments is key for this role.
* Monthly analysis of loss-making calls/products, identifying areas where margin could be improved, and working closely with the Commercial Director to make decisions.
* Collaborate with carriers to ensure they bill Wavenet correctly (invoicing name of Wavenet instead of acquisition, etc.).
* Identify areas of consolidation of the supplier base (mainly the legacy supplier chain).
* Chase credits from suppliers based on reconciliation errors, ensuring credits are raised. Establishing good links with top carriers will be key for this role.
* Create a monthly report of all savings/revenue generated to report back to management, keeping track of progress and promoting the role's importance.
* Identify areas of process improvement within the order and ceasing process by noticing trends of missed charges.
