An outstanding individual is sought to fulfil the role of Training Programme Director for Dental Core Training in Community Dental Services (CDS), currently in held in Hull, Harrogate, Sheffield and Rotherham. Accountable to the Postgraduate Dental Dean via the Associate Dental Dean, they will play an important part in the direction of CDS DCT training programmes across Yorkshire and the Humber. Supporting trainees’ physical, emotional and mental well-being, essential involvement with recruitment, quality control and assessment of trainees, as well as delivering a training programme that delivers in accordance with the DCT curriculum and the Dental Gold Guide 2023, is required. The ideal candidate will be an experienced NHS Consultant, SAS, SDO grade or University employee (lecturer or above) who is currently working within DCT CDS training programmes across the Yorkshire and Humber region and with a thorough understanding of postgraduate dental training programmes at this level. They will also have strong leadership and communication skills and be able to work effectively as a member of a multi-professional team committed to implementing the Dental Education Reform Programme. The post will be available on the basis of a secondment arrangement to NHSE WT&E remunerated at their Pay Scale – 0.5PA per week All work undertaken is to be incorporated into the successful applicant’s Job Plan. Regional travel maybe required for attendance at meetings and educational events.
