The Client
Our client is a national insurance firm with a very well established regional professional indemnity offering. They plan to establish a new professional indemnity team in Birmingham and, having now identified a Partner who will lead their Birmingham team, they wish to recruit at least two juniors to assist the Partner in question from day one.
Our client advises on all kinds of traditional professional indemnity claims, including construction and non-constructions risks. They also advise on complex policy coverage issues.
Our client is ambitious and has an impressive client list. They also have the ability to work closely with insureds and claims professionals alike.
The Role
The Professional Indemnity team wishes to recruit at least two junior lawyers (Solicitors or Chartered Legal Executives) to assist a Legal 500 recommended lawyer who is set to join the team later this year. The partner in question is best known for their work in defending solicitors, but they are also highly experienced in defending accountants, insolvency practitioners, surveyors and construction professionals.
Key Requirements:
* Previous insurance litigation experience, ideally within professional indemnity
* An ability to prioritise workload
* An ability to communicate in writing and prepare succinct and concise reports
* Ability to pay attention to detail
* Ability to work with case management systems
* The personal skills to deal with such work as major and expensive litigation involving liaison with senior claims handlers
* Legal qualification required – solicitor/FCILEx
Desirable:
* Willingness to play a role in the development of client relationships and of the practice as a whole
* Claims handling experience (via a previous secondment or otherwise)
