Job Description As the Wine Sommelier at RIXOS, you will be responsible for curating and managing our wine collection, providing expert wine recommendations, and delivering an exceptional wine experience for our guests. You will work closely with our culinary team to create perfect wine pairings and contribute to a refined and sophisticated dining environment. Key Responsibilities: · Wine Selection and Curation: Develop and maintain a diverse and high-quality wine list, including rare and unique selections. Establish and manage relationships with wine suppliers and distributors. · Guest Experience: Offer personalized wine recommendations and pairings based on guest preferences, dining choices, and occasions. Conduct wine tastings and educational sessions for guests, enhancing their understanding and appreciation of wine. · Staff Training: Train restaurant and service staff on wine knowledge, tasting techniques, and proper service standards to ensure a consistent and high-quality wine experience. · Wine Service: Oversee the proper storage, handling, and presentation of wines. Ensure that all wine service procedures are followed meticulously, from opening and pouring to serving at the correct temperature. · Quality Control: Monitor and maintain the quality and condition of the wine inventory. Address any issues related to wine service and make recommendations for improvements. · Events and Promotions: Plan and execute wine-related events, promotions, and collaborations to enhance the visibility and appeal of our wine offerings. · Guest Feedback: Collect and analyze guest feedback regarding wine service and make recommendations for enhancements based on guest preferences and industry trends. Qualifications · Proven experience as a Wine Sommelier or in a similar role within a luxury hospitality environment. · Extensive knowledge of various wine regions, varietals, and vintages, as well as wine tasting and pairing techniques. · Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and educate guests effectively. · Experience in staff training and development. · Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality service. · Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. · Certification or formal training from a recognized wine education institution (e.g., WSET, CMS) is preferred.
