St Michael's Church of England Primary School is looking to appoint a motivated and energetic Teaching Assistant to work within its nursery provision and provide support to its young learners, starting as soon as possible.Contract: Temporary. Working Hours: Part Time (32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 38 weeks per year, term-time only – no Teacher Training days). Required: ASAPWe are an open and inclusive primary school, educating children between the ages of 5 and 11 years. Our nursery is open to children aged 3 to 4 years and is where our youngest pupils begin their educational journey. Located in the garrison town of Larkhill, Wiltshire, our setting aims to spark interest, ignite a passion for learning and fire up ambition to inspire every child to recognise and exceed expectations. Our staff provide a challenging, yet nurturing, environment based on our Christian values and we are committed to learning outside the classroom, as much as inside; with regular trips planned and visitors invited in to help make the learning relevant and linked to both our local community and the wider world. In May 2022, we joined Acorn Education Trust, which has provided exciting opportunities to improve local education and draw on collective experience.As a Teaching Assistant within our nursery, you will be a pro-active Early Years Professional able to inspire and excite young, curious minds and ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality education and care for all our children.
We are looking for someone who: Has a passion for delivering high quality and exciting opportunities for children;Has strong interpersonal and communication skills and is able to work with a variety of pupils, staff and parents, including our existing and incoming military families;Has experience of working with pre-school age children;Has a relevant level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in children’s care and learning;Has a current First Aid or is prepared to undertake training;Has superb attention to detail and organisational skills;Is self-motivated dedicated and consistent;Has the ability to deal with new challenging situations;Is a strong team player who can use their own initiative;Has a positive and flexible attitude and can demonstrate a warm and caring approach with children.
