We are looking for a Graduate Estimator to join our Building team in London. Our Building team’s award-winning public-sector projects have included Bath Spa University, the Royal London Hospital, Bristol schools and several significant defence projects. In the private sector, our focus is on commercial and mixed-use buildings. Our expertise in London has created a portfolio that includes some of the capital’s most iconic buildings, such as The Gherkin and Heron Tower. What you'll do: Prepare cost plans and undertake cost planning exercises Work with the project team to maximise all opportunities and minimise all risks to achieve the best possible project cost. Prepare all financial elements and components of the tendering process from identification and authorisation to proceed to financial handover and beyond, if necessary, under supervision. Aid and assist the senior project estimator to develop the information into a competitive cost estimate. Prepare all necessary financial documents for the Chief Estimator, Operations Director and Managing Director reviews under supervision. Assist the bidding team with any post tender negotiations as required. Assist the Project Estimator with the production of the Embodied Carbon Estimate (using our in-house system) What you'll bring to the role: Awareness of estimating software tools. Awareness of JCT and NEC forms of contract. Knowledge and understanding of BIM and digital productivity Understanding of scope and contractual requirements Great communication skills, with the ability to liaise with sub-contractors and Suppliers to produce robust estimates. Able to understand engineering drawings/Work Specifications - knowledge of CAD Commercial awareness to maximise profitability and cash flow. Computer literate - Microsoft packages, including specifically Excel (being able to set formulas, produce spreadsheets etc).
