Job Description:
Arcadis is the world's leading company delivering sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets.
We are more than 36,000 people, in over 70 countries, dedicated to improving quality of life. Everyone has an important role to play. With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world's most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.
We are looking for an experienced Building Energy Consultant to join our growing Energy Transformation team, working for a range of clients from the public sector to large national investors. This role will work closely with property owners and leaseholders looking to improve the sustainable performance of their buildings and portfolios. We need practical experience to technically support clients on their Net Zero Carbon journey.
We work to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generations. Around the world, we're feeling the effects of climate change, rapid urbanization, and loss of biodiversity. The rate at which we're seeing large-scale, unforeseen events such as floods and wildfires is increasing. We are here to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generations.
This role will provide specialist building, energy, and carbon services for a broad range of public and private sector clients. We are looking for a strong grounding in building operation, services, building physics, energy analytics, and low and zero carbon energy generation technologies, alongside a passion to help clients deliver their Net Zero ambitions. You will play an integral role in supporting clients in technical strategic decision-making for new and existing building estates. Key responsibilities include:
* Completion of on-site energy audits
* Modelling of a building's energy performance using IES-VE
* Production of energy audit reports, Building Regulations Part L reports, and Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs)
* Development and modelling of energy and carbon saving measures
* Completion of CRREM tool analysis
* Providing strategic energy & carbon compliance risk reduction advice
* Understanding energy and carbon in the context of client sustainability drivers
Qualifications & Experience:
* Experience working on projects in the building energy and carbon sector with a good understanding of technical and commercial matters
* Experience interacting with clients and involvement in business development
* EPC experience; NDEA accreditation is an advantage
* Experience with IES-VE is essential
* Knowledge of Building Regulations and policies
* Technical expertise in buildings and the wider built environment, including sustainability impacts on property management
* Understanding of net zero, sustainability policies, and regulations
* Personable with a can-do attitude
* Sustainability or engineering degree, or equivalent experience
Because we're such a diverse business, we offer variety as standard. You'll work on different projects across various industries. Our Sustainability Advisory team provides services from strategic ESG support to carbon footprinting, renewable technologies, climate adaptation, and corporate sustainability strategies.
We embrace flexible working, recognizing the need to work smarter and more agile. We trust you to find the right balance to meet client promises while focusing on what matters to you. We never compromise on this flexibility.
