Purpose of the Role
To oversee and manage Ocorian’s trade debtors for all Jurisdictions with outstanding debt and safeguarding the business from potential risk due to non-payment. Implementing and maintaining policies and procedures to improve overall cash flow
Main Responsibilities
* Act as point person for all matters related to client debt and liaise with relevant stakeholders. Manage the Credit Control team and report to senior management including CFO, Finance Director & Executive Committee
Day-to-day, working with Credit Control and Client teams/ Finance you will:
* Undertake all necessary activities to secure strong credit control results for the business using a variety of communication formats, which will include:
o Chasing up overdue payments;
o Assisting with resolution of client queries and issues;
o Referring debts to third party collection agencies, when necessary
* Report information on daily, weekly and monthly basis to management as required.
* Deliver challenging targets based on the following:
o Value of collections
o Debtor Days
o Aged Debt analysis
* Day to day management of Credit Control currently six direct reports
* Additional Ad-hoc duties

Qualifications
* Ideally a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a credit control function.
* People management including developing/training current team members and new joiners
* Reporting to senior stakeholders
* Proven experience in creating and implementing policies and procedures to maximise cash collection potential
* Confident with strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage people at all levels.
* Strong IT skills including excel.
* Negotiation skills and commercial awareness.
* Prior experience liaising with third parties regarding debt recovery i.e. law firms, debt collection agencies, administrators etc
* Prior experience with Navision useful, but not essential
Soft Skills
* Excellent interpersonal and positive influencing skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues at all levels.
* Demonstrable track record of credit control success within a large business with individual and institutional clients, ideally in the financial services sector.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* A solution-driven attitude to problems and the ability to drive the implementation of solutions across an organisation.
* Credible and professional behaviour.
* Ability to take ownership in managing client relations.
* Strong time management and organisational skills.
* Meticulous attention to detail with an ability to work in a methodical manner.
* Prior training in assertiveness / negotiation would be desirable but can be provided.
* An understanding of Mandarin would be highly desirable
