We’re looking for a highly organised and proactive Secretarial Adviser to join our busy Board Secretariat team, supporting the smooth operation of Board and Committee meetings and delivering high-quality corporate governance support and advice. In this vital role, you will work closely with the Assistant Secretaries to support the effective delivery of Secretariat services, ensuring compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements, corporate governance best practices, and Co-op Rules. This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates with a genuine interest in developing their governance career. What you’ll do Maintain statutory records and complete statutory filings for the Co-op and its subsidiaries Facilitate the smooth running of Board and Committee meetings including drafting Board minutes, preparing agendas and ensuring timely dissemination of information Support key projects such as restructuring activity Work as part of a team to deliver the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and democracy related activities Work with other Board Secretariat colleagues to implement processes and procedures that meet with governance, statutory and Co-op Rule requirements Collate responses to Know Your Client (KYC) requests Support Director training and development activity This will suit people who have Some experience of working in a company secretary or governance team, with knowledge of corporate governance principles and compliance requirements Part-CGI/ICSA qualified or a willingness to undertake the qualification Experience with Entity Management Software such as Diligent or similar High level of attention for detail and accuracy Good time management and an ability to multi-task Why Co-op?
