Practice Nurse
We are looking to expand our excellent Practice Nursing Team. We are a friendly growing surgery of 7900 patients based in the lovely market town of Nantwich. Practice Nurse Experience is preferred but not essential as training and support will be given to the right candidate.
Salary: Depending on experience.
Hours of work: Negotiable full/ part time
The candidate will demonstrate flexibility, good communication skills, and an ability to work as a team member as well as using their own initiative. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your clinical skills. Post holders will be NMC registered ideally with General Practice nursing experience. She/he will demonstrate a commitment to further learning and development. Our Practice Nurses work alongside GPs, and the other members of the nursing team to improve overall health and well being of our patients.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients in accordance with the policies, procedures and guidelines of the practice.
Responsibilities:
The post-holder will have experience or receive training to deliver the following duties:
1. Chronic Disease Management
2. Cervical screening
3. Immunisations and injections
4. Wound care
5. Clinical record keeping
6. Mentoring Health Care Assistants, Assistant Practitioners and Students.
7. Involvement in auditing and quality control
8. Work according to the NMC code of professional conduct.
9. The above is not an exhaustive list of expected duties to be undertaken. Full training and competencies will be given to ensure that the post holder has the appropriate skills to undertake the above. This list can be added to at yearly appraisal in keeping with service development and changing roles expected of the Practice Nurse.

Nantwich Health Centre has a patient population of 7900. Our current nursing team consists of one Practice Nurse, one Nursing Associate, one Health Care Assistant and one GP Assistant. The clinical team are supported by a large number of secretarial and administrative staff.
