Job Overview We are looking to recruit a small team of Data Quality Improvement Officers to assist the Trust in getting patient data ready for migration into the MEDITECH Electronic Patient Record (EPR) in March 2026. You will be working within the Patient Access validation team and directed on areas of focus by the central EPR team. We are looking for staff with a good working knowledge of iPM and Referral to Treatment (RTT) pathways and rules. A good eye for detail and a methodical approach to tasks is essential. The job will involve investigating patient pathways and documentation on iPM and e-HR and using knowledge and experience to make decisions on the correct codes to apply to the patient's record to ensure that they are accurate and up to date. Main duties of the job The post holder will be working solely on data quality issues that will impact on the delivery of the EPR implementation. They will be responsible for ensuring that data input by Trust Staff to any computer system, relating to Patient Information, that is required for data migration is accurate, valid, consistent, complete, fit for purpose and able to be migrated over to MEDITECH with no failure during the data migration process. The post holder will work with and support staff of all levels who manage or have responsibilities for all data input. The post holder will focus on the master patient index, open referrals and pathways for all activity including Referral to Treatment, Non-Referral to Treatment, Diagnostics and Cancer. They will work collaboratively with the other two trusts within the EPR Programme ensuring the approach to correction is consistent and in line with the data migration requirements. Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities Support the EPR Programme by focusing on data cleansing specific data items that are required to be migrated into MEDITECH Expanse. Expert knowledge will be required in the correct processes and validation methodology of patient demographics: Using the local hospital PAS system Cross hospital matching systems and data quality outputs. Validation with the national spine Use of default information Outputs from the Demographic Batch Service Update deceased patient details and close off any open referrals or activity. The post holder must have expert knowledge of all aspects of a patient’s pathway from the referral into the Trust to the actual first treatment for the condition. This includes Referral to Treatment, Non-Referral to Treatment, Diagnostic and Cancer Pathways and Periods Reading & understanding patient case-notes which requires knowledge of medical terminology. Receipt & entry of the referral. Booking & cancelling Out-patient appointments Post Session Recording of Out-patient attendances. Adding patients to Day case/Inpatient waiting lists TCI (To come in) offers, deferred treatment. Closing off referrals Linking activity to the correct referral Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria Educated to NVQ level 4 or equivalent level qualification and/or experience. Desirable criteria Intermediate IT skills Skills Essential criteria Advanced MS Office skills Competent use of Patient Administration System and other HealthCare IT systems. Advanced key board skills and VDU use.
