The role As an Assistant Buyer at PLT you're innovative, driven and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You're responsible for driving the success of PLT. This includes constantly reviewing the critical path to ensure that department targets as well as deliveries are met on time and in line with the brand's strategy. In this particular role we're ideally looking for Assistant Buyers with footwear experience however this is not essential. What you'll be doing Managing a BAA on critical path and OPO management to ensure department targets are achieved and deliveries on time Ownership of fit sessions and actioning fit comments direct to suppliers Negotiating cost prices to achieve best prices and meet department BIM Understanding open costings including fabric prices, consumption and fit amend implications Collating the final sign off pack with the support of the JB/Buyer Attending supplier meetings to develop and source new development as well as reviewing OPO and any production concerns Responsible for weekly OPO meetings alongside AM, BAA and MAA. Contributing to development across category to assist the JB/Buyer with range building Management of sample development tracker and chasing in development to meet deadlines Responsible for managing and developing BAA and their training Understanding of the market place, target customer and key competitors Awareness of department KPI’s and department strategy Understands department strategy, frameworks and spend plans with the support of buyer/JB and merch team Accountable for checking new in product daily to ensure all details of each product are correct online Trading: Understanding of the weekly trade pack with contribution to department best and worst Contributing to weekly trade meetings with suggestions on how to react to department trading Understanding and reacting to daily trading reports Accountable for achieving cost price reductions of 1st time rebuys Carries out weekly comp shops and supports the BAA in collating the comp shop report for management Working closely with buyer and garment techs to react to high returning lines Creative: Contributing to department product development with an awareness of department best and worst and seasonal trends Generates ideas to support department strategy through product, studio and VM Daily review of department galleries to ensure product is being shot correctly Working with us We don’t call ourselves the PLT family for nothing – you can feel the buzz and atmosphere as soon as you walk into the office. More about you Previous experience working in fashion buying, either at Assistant Buyer of Buyers Admin Assistant level.
