As Medical Statistician, you will provide comprehensive statistical support to researchers, assisting them in study design, data analysis, and the communication of findings. This includes performing statistical analyses on project-generated data, guiding researchers in study design and supporting non-statistical team members with basic statistical methodology.
Additional responsibilities will include contributing to the development and updating of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to data processing and statistical matters. Additionally, the position requires contributing to trial protocols, case report forms, databases, and grant proposals in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Provide statistical support to researchers, advising and assisting on study design, data analysis and basic statistical methodology
* Perform statistical analyses on data generated by the project, and assist in communicating the findings in peer-reviewed publications or reports
* Providing support in updating the Standard Operating Procedures for data processing and statistical matters
* Contribute to the development of trial protocols, design of the case report forms and databases in a multi-disciplinary environment
* Contribute to LSTM research with an emphasis on the provision of statistical expertise to clinical and biomedical research projects.
* Contribute to the design, implementation and conduct of clinical trials and epidemiological studies in low-resource settings
Qualifications and skills required:
* Postgraduate degree in medical statistics or biostatistics or equivalent
* Experience of medical statistics in applied research and epidemiological research, such as performing sample size calculations, writing analysis plans, performing analyses, reporting and interpreting findings
* Experience of clinical research
* Knowledge of medical statistics and epidemiology
* Statistical programming experience, for example, SAS/Stata/R
