NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
NHS Lothian covers Edinburgh city, East Lothian, Midlothian and West Lothian. As one of the largest UK health systems and one of only four teaching Boards in Scotland, we have strategic partnerships with local Universities, local authorities and our four Integration Joint Boards. We serve a population of 903,000, providing a range of primary care, community based, mental health and acute services. We also provide a wide range of nationally commissioned specialist services for the whole country, as well as regional services to populations ranging from 1.4m to 2.5m.
We aim to improve public health, maximise outcomes for patient experience, ensure clinical effectiveness and to continue to transform the way we do things, building on the success of our approach to quality management and developing our role as an Anchor Institution.
We are a values-driven organisation with an ambitious transformational change programme linked to our strategic development framework.
We want to attract the best talent. Someone who acts with integrity and embraces and projects collective, compassionate and inspirational leadership.
Ideally, you will be an experienced HR Director within health and care OR have worked at a similar level in a large, complex organisation. You will be attuned to the demands of regulation and public scrutiny. You will understand how integrated health and care systems operate, but more importantly, how the different facets of the system interrelate so that innovation, improvement, and integration occur naturally. You will be recognised by your peers for your innately collaborative leadership style and natural ability to build trust across all stakeholders.
These important qualities will be combined with innovative strategic vision and courage to act decisively to lead our people and associated functions, ensuring we have strong staff engagement, a culture which enables good staff experience, and that NHS Lothian is a great place to work.
