Your role with us We’re currently looking for a Senior Communications Officer to join our external communications team. We’re responsible for coordinating delivery of our stakeholder engagement, public affairs and customer content as well as dealing with the media and helping the organisation prioritise and target our key customers and stakeholder groups. A core part of the agency’s work is valuing all non-domestic properties every three years for business rates. You’ll lead on external communications on revaluation, building understanding with our stakeholders and customers of how we make our valuation decisions. You will also support other business areas as needed. Who we’re looking for To be a success in this role you’ll be a creative self-starter who can deliver innovative and timely external communications campaigns. You’ll also be a strategic thinker, able to consider organisation priorities and mitigate reputational risks when planning. You’ll be able to manage your time effectively, prioritising competing demands and multiple projects effectively to meet tight deadlines. You’ll be confident building and maintaining effective relationships with external stakeholders and partners, as well as providing strategic advice to senior leaders, policy and operational teams. Understanding the importance of insight, you’ll ensure you use evidence from the business, as well as our customers and stakeholders to inform communications activity. You’ll have worked with the media and be able to turn complex information into compelling content across a range of channels. We’re a dispersed team but we work closely together to deliver measurable change through our communications. You must be a British citizen at the time of your application and will require a basic Disclosure and Barring Service check for this role.
