Location: Ouseburn Valley, Byker, Newcastle upon Tyne Salary: £30,000 - £34,000 per annum Bonus Hours: 42 hours per week, with one weekend day off We are looking for a reliable and experienced General Manager to take charge of both the bar and kitchen operations for a well-established and growing business in Newcastle’s Ouseburn Valley. What you’ll be doing: Managing the daily operations of both the bar and kitchen, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently. Ensuring stock levels are properly managed, placing orders, and keeping track of inventory across both areas. Making sure both the bar and kitchen comply with health and safety, food safety, and hygiene regulations at all times. Handling financial reporting, cash management, tills, and reconciling accounts, ensuring everything is accurate and up-to-date. Working with the Head Chef to maintain efficient stock management and ensure smooth kitchen operations. Collaborating with the Marketing & Events Manager to ensure marketing and events run without a hitch, supporting business goals. Maintaining high standards in both the bar and kitchen, ensuring customer service is excellent and the environment is always welcoming. Looking for ways to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and think creatively to maximise profits and streamline operations. Managing and developing a team, providing training and support where needed. What you’ll bring: Proven experience in a senior management role within the hospitality industry, particularly managing both bar and kitchen operations. A strong understanding of stock management, ordering systems, and financial reporting. A valid liquor license. Experience managing a team, including training, mentoring, and supporting their development. Strong organisational skills and a keen eye for detail. A hands-on approach to work, with the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining high standards. A focus on customer service, ensuring every guest feels welcomed and valued.
