The full-time starting salary is normally £41,814.00 per annum, with progression available in post to £45,449.00 per annum. 18-month fixed term contract role The Faculty of Arts, Design and Media in Birmingham City University wishes to recruit a Lecturer in Screenwriting and Fiction on an 18-month fixed-term contract. The Faculty is home to a thriving community of researchers and practitioners who serve a diverse student body. We aim to provide students with an outstanding educational experience through our industry-focused provision which ranges from undergraduate to postgraduate. The post-holder will be part of the teaching team across the Colleges of English and Media, and Digital Arts. They will deliver modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with a particular focus on the BA (Hons) English and Creative Writing and BA (Hons) Film and Screenwriting. The successful candidate will have experience as a practitioner in creative writing with particular emphasis on screenwriting and prose fiction (eg: short stories, novels). Experience of creative non-fiction writing would be welcome but not essential. You will also have a track-record of published work and sector-relevant experience.
