About the Lottery Canvasser role:
As a Lottery Canvasser, you will play a key role in increasing membership to our hospice lottery by engaging with the public and inspiring them to support our cause. You will represent the charity in the community, deliver excellent customer service and sign up new members to help raise crucial funds. Your work will directly contribute to the care and support we provide to local children and families during the most challenging times in their lives.

We are currently recruiting Lottery Canvassers in Wrexham on a self-employed basis. Our Lottery Canvasser will increase Lottery membership via door to door canvassing and / or working from venues in the local community. Our Lottery Canvasser has flexible hours to suit your working days, evenings or weekends.

Key Responsibilities:
Engage with the Public:
Represent the hospice within the community through door to door promotion, attending events, community spaces and other locations to raise awareness about our services and the importance of the hospice lottery.
Sign Up New Lottery Members:
Actively promote the benefits of the hospice lottery, encouraging individuals to join and make a difference to the lives of children and families across the local area.
Customer Service:
Provide a warm, friendly, and professional experience for all potential lottery members, answering any questions and ensuring they feel valued and informed about their contribution.
Ambassador for the Charity:
Be a passionate advocate for the hospice and our mission, acting as a positive and approachable representative of the charity at all times.
Build Relationships:
Develop strong relationships with local businesses, community groups, and event organisers to create opportunities for promotion and partnerships.
Achieve Targets:
Work towards agreed membership sign-up targets, contributing to the overall success of our lottery fundraising goals.
Administration:
Ensure all new member information is collected accurately and processed in a timely manner, adhering to data protection and confidentiality standards.
Feedback & Reporting:
Provide regular updates and feedback to the fundraising team on successes, challenges, and areas for improvement.
We are looking for a Lottery Canvasser with the following skills and experience:
Excellent Customer Service Skills:
You are approachable, personable, and confident in engaging with the public.
Communication:
You can clearly and passionately explain the hospice’s work and the benefits of joining the lottery.
Sales or Fundraising Experience:
Previous experience in a sales, fundraising, or promotional role is desirable, but not essential – full training will be provided.
Target Driven:
You are motivated by achieving targets and have a passion for making a difference.
Show Resilience:
You will have the ability to recover from challenges and setbacks.
Self-Motivated & Organised:
You can manage your time effectively, work independently, and are able to organise your time and materials required.
Opportunity to work outdoors:

Ambassadorial Skills:
You are enthusiastic about representing the charity and can embody its values and mission in public-facing roles.
