Please note this role requires being on site in South Wales 2-3 days per week.
Day-to-day responsibilities of the role:
* Lead Infrastructure engineering teams to deliver stable network and infrastructure platforms that meet organisational needs within time and budget constraints.
* Collaborate with the Lead Architect to define new architectures, standards, and methods for large-scale enterprise systems.
* Utilise automation capabilities across the environment and establish processes that promote efficiency and solve day-to-day user problems.
* Develop a technical roadmap in alignment with the business and technology strategy, collaborating with various stakeholder groups.
* Implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance team processes, including network and infrastructure performance.
* Drive the automation of cloud infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
* Engage at a strategic level to influence policy, technical decisions, and organisational objectives.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Educated to master’s degree level or equivalent demonstrable level of work experience and knowledge.
* ITIL Foundation Certificate.
* Significant experience in technical leadership and strategic direction setting.
* Proven experience in operational management of platforms/infrastructure in a medium to large enterprise.
* Strong technical experience with on-prem infrastructure solutions and public cloud environments.
* Demonstrated leadership in a senior role, building, leading, or developing a team of senior IT/Digital professionals.
* Experience in stakeholder management and managing delivery in a multi-supplier environment.
