CrC (London) Limited are looking for applicants to fill an exciting mixed role in one of our Pocket Geek Tech Repair stores in Colchester, as well as a Mobile opportunity in one of our Service Vans!
Pocket Geek Tech Repair is a Retail service network by Assurant, one of the world's largest insurance companies that is on the Fortune 500. Our goal with this network is to provide the highest quality repairs and service to both Assurant's insurance clients as well as to the general public. Currently, there are 60 stores in Assurant's UK network.
A successful applicant would be taking part in the repair process of a mixture of mobile, tablet, computer and other devices to their manufacturer's standard, from multiple brands like Samsung, Apple, Motorola, Google, Microsoft and Lenovo.
This role involves engineering tasks such as:
* Logging onto Assurant's live system to update the status of repairs
* Physically replacing hardware components and updating software, to a level 2 standard for all devices, and Level 3 standard for certain models.
* Liasing with Admin and Front of House teams and working together to ensure that customer repair process is smooth
* Occasionally serving customers up-front, offering empathy, customer service and demonstrating sales skills when required
* Occasionally driving to certain locations to perform the above in a Van instead of in-store
If you have an interest in engineering roles involving small/fine parts, and skill in driving, this may be the job for you. Some experience is required in technical service, and staff members receive Assurant official training and will have access to our knowledge base here at CrC. A driving license is required and assistance is available to gain experience with vans.
Typical requirements for this role are:
* 4/C in English, ICT and Maths GCSE
* Some personal experience with IT equipment and software (Documents/Spreadsheets)
* Previous work experience in any related service role
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with medium risk tolerance will be essential as you will be dealing with devices worth thousands of pounds each, using expensive parts on said devices and dealing with customer data which is priceless to the clients. We also deal with hundreds of devices every week, so repair speed is of essence. All engineers are fully tracked on repair speeds, parts usage and repeat repairs.
Starting salary is £12.50PH, a 3-month probation period will be in effect. Negotiations are available after this period.
Working week consists of 5 days/week, working 8-hour shifts including an unpaid 1 hour break, totaling 40 paid hours/week. We do have some flexibility available depending on employee needs, and overtime is available. Our open hours are 09:00 - 17:00 Monday - Saturday.
