Part-Time 1:1 Outreach Tutor, Witham
About the Part-Time 1:1 Outreach Tutor position:
Prospero Teaching are looking for 1:1 tutors to support children in care, children with special educational needs and excluded pupils across Essex.
1. We have a variety of different part-time tuition opportunities that can take place during the school day.
2. Successful tutors should be able to support mainly with the core subjects of Maths, English and sometimes Science across all key stages. (the students we work with are usually low levels, the highest level you would be expected to tutor would be foundation level).
3. You should be flexible, adaptable and have experience working within the education sector.
4. Lessons could take place in either their home, care home or an alternative setting such as a local library.
5. Students are likely to have difficulty responding to conventional teaching and may have behaviour and/or SEN difficulties. They are also likely to be working at lower levels than their peers.

11. Duration / Likely Duration – Ongoing
12. Full time/part-time – Part-time Monday to Friday – 3 hours per day
13. Minimum rate of pay – £25 per hour
Experience, Training and Qualifications required for the Part-Time 1:1 Outreach Tutor position:
14. QTS or QTLS is preferred but not essential providing you have relevant experience
15. Experience working with Students with SEMH or LAC would be advantageous.
16. Highly motivated and focused on achieving the best for every student.
17. A positive attitude and desire.
18. The ability to engage and motivate students whilst making learning fun.
To be eligible for the Part-Time 1:1 Outreach Tutor position through Prospero Teaching you must:
19. Hold Right to Work in the UK
20. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
21. Provide two professional child related references
