There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks, this will be dependant upon factors such as workload and staffing levels. Assisting healthcare professionals in providing high-quality patient care. Conducting new patient health checks, measurements, and routine tests. Supporting patients with various healthcare needs, such as dressing changes, wound care, ECGs working within your scope of practice. Ear irrigation when trained under the supervision of the Practice Nurse Support the Practice Nurse with the management of chronic disease clinics. When trained, administer flu & pneumonia vaccinations and B12 injections. Maintaining accurate patient records and assisting with administrative tasks as required. Upholding infection control standards and ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients. Carry out BMI checks as directed. Ensure specimens are recorded and ready for onward transport. Ensure all clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session. Ensure fridges are cleaned routinely in accordance with extant guidance. Ensure clinical waste is removed from clinical areas and sharps bins replaced in accordance with the organisation's IPC policy. Deliver opportunistic health promotion where appropriate.
