Since 2006, Longitude Engineering, part of the ABL Group, has delivered independent design and engineering services in the marine, offshore renewables, oil & gas, defence, and offshore infrastructure markets. Our independence, expertise, and experience make us a natural choice for a wide range of design solutions across the Asia Pacific, Europe, and North America. We specialize in vessel and marine asset design and conversion, marine operations engineering, and energy transition engineering solutions.
We're looking for an Engineering Geologist with strong GIS skills to join the Longitude geosciences team at ABL Group. You'll play a key role in offshore oil & gas and renewable energy projects, with opportunities to collaborate across departments and develop geological models. If you're ambitious and ready for the challenge, we'd love to hear from you!
What you will be doing
As our Geologist, you will be responsible for developing geological ground models, conducting site characterization, and supporting offshore projects. You'll also leverage your GIS skills to deliver high-quality results and may occasionally supervise offshore operations, contributing to both oil & gas and renewable energy initiatives. In addition, you will:

2. Conduct desk studies and feasibility assessments for project sites.
3. Perform geological site characterization and assessment.
4. Scope and supervise site investigations for offshore projects.
5. Prepare interpretive reports and select geotechnical parameters, contributing to geotechnical ground model development.
6. Engage in cable risk analysis, including routing, burial assessments, and tool selection/performance evaluation.
7. Assist in delivering solutions to clients within the required timeframe, budget, and quality standards.
8. Attend internal and external meetings as needed.
9. Follow all company instructions, procedures, and policies.
10. Collaborate with other ABL geoscience departments as required.
11. Provide offshore project supervision when necessary.
We are excited to offer a flexible working arrangement for this position, which can be based from one of our UK offices. The successful applicant must have the legal right to live and work in the UK. This role offers a hybrid model, combining both home and office work, with a total of 40 contracted hours per week.

3. Proficient in ArcGIS.
4. Ability to collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team, including engineers, contract managers, and QHSE personnel.
5. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a multicultural team.
6. Capable of working independently and taking initiative when required.
