We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN) at a vibrant Primary School. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support, helping the child access learning and reach their full potential. This role begins April 2025.
Duties as a SEN 121 Teaching Assistant:
* Provide 1:1 support to a child with SEN, ensuring their individual needs are met.
* Assist in implementing personalised learning plans.
* Support the child in developing social and communication skills.
* Encourage independence while offering guidance and reassurance.
* Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and parents to monitor progress.
* Help manage challenging behaviours using positive reinforcement strategies.
* Adapt learning materials and activities to suit the child's needs.
* Promote inclusion and participation in classroom activities.
* Uphold safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.
Ideal SEN 121 Teaching Assistant:
* Experience working with children with SEN (preferred but not essential).
* A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare, Teaching Assistance, or SEN Support (desirable).
* Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills as a SEN 121 Teaching Assistant.
* A commitment to supporting children’s development and well-being.
* A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
