This Lead Product Designer position is mainly remote working, however our product design team meet on an ad hoc basis in collaboration hubs.
What you’ll do:
As a Lead Product Designer, we will be looking for you to understand and appreciate how user research insights inform the design of our clinical products. Involved in every aspect of the PXD process, we want you promote a user centred and evidence based approach to product design.
We’re looking for collaborators who can represent the user at all times with stakeholders whilst working in an agile framework. Your role will be to identify the types of UX activities and deliverables required that will delight our end-users. As a Lead in the product design team, you will support and mentor junior members whilst working closely with our Product Design Manager to inform the product design strategy.
As a creative big picture designer, you will help foster an innovative design approach with your Product Design and cross functional colleagues, including facilitating Design Thinking workshops to ideate around user needs.
Other key responsibilities and accountabilities will include;
* Partner with Product Managers & Owners to align UX best practice into agile processes.
* Engage our internal user research team to help with gaining early discovery insights.
* Actively collaborate and engage stakeholders contributing to requirements capture.
* Develop user journeys, task flows, storyboards, annotated wireframes and prototypes to communicate interaction and design ideas, as well as validate assumptions and solutions with users, business and technology.
Who you’ll be:
We need you to be an experienced Product Designer with a passion for focussing design solutions on end user needs. You will be able to demonstrate experience in the discovery and ownership of the end-to-end design solutions in your career. Your approach to design must be user-first with the ability to work with complex systems and understanding of data analytics.
Having worked in a similar Product Design position, you will have demonstratable experience collaborating with development teams to develop and rationalise your design solutions. With an understanding of user research and mentoring junior teams, collaboration is essential.
Other professional and technical skills we are looking for you to demonstrate include;
* Experience working with multiple data related analytical or digital products.
* Able to talk confidently with engineers in order to understand how back-end data sets and technical integrations impact end user task flows ensuring exception handling and rule mapping forms part of artefact outputs.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* Confident storyteller, with the ability to clearly communicate design decisions based on user and other relevant insights.
* Expert Figma user, using a shared Design System to deliver hi fidelity designs and working prototypes.
