Title: Engineering Purchaser
Location: Milton Keynes
Hours: Monday - Friday, 7am - 4pm (Flexible hours)
Salary: Circa £30,000 - £35,000 (depending on experience) + Overtime + Extensive benefits please see below.
Position Details:
This international food manufacturing company is seeking an engineering purchaser, to be responsible for the procurement and management of all spare parts and maintenance equipment used onsite, to join their engineering team in Milton Keynes.
The site itself is a fast-paced manufacturing site with high technology products and highly regulated processes, you will need to be based on site and work closely with the team. Due to multiple projects on site you will need to source engineering parts and tools from new clients and their existing book. This may involve negotiating with suppliers, bringing on new clients and purchasing materials in line with expansion and the computerised stock tracking system.
Your day to day duties will include identify areas where cost and waste can be driven out, financial administration and reporting, the purchase of Engineering equipment and parts to ensure they are supplied to agreed specification, on time, in full, at lowest cost, consistent strive for continuous improvement on site, assist with the efficiency of stock control, prompt amend and adapt the back office systems (NAV system) and up date the CMMS (Pirana - Shire's CMMS software regularly).
This an administrative role which will require strong IT skills / database skills alongside a general manufacturing / engineering understanding in order to source the correct equipment. Therefore either a background working closely with an engineering or purchasing parts for a manufacturing site are fundamental.
You will also be involved in the Risk Assessment process to include the reduction of risk as well take responsibility to ensure that you fully comply with Health,safety and Environment Per ISO 45001.
Requirements:

1. At least 3 years experience as an engineering purchase / buyer or procurement specialist etc
2. Previous experience working within an engineering team, preferable on a FMCG food manufacturing site.
3. Approaches tasks with a can-do attitude and has the ability to think of creative solutions to problems.
4. Able to learn new IT systems quickly with good attention to detail.
5. Knowledge process POs in an accurate and timely manner in line with the finance team.
