Financial Resilience Officer\n\n£ 35,235 - £41,511 per annum\n\nHoniton Home Working\n\nFull Time - 37 hours (flexible working may be considered)\n\nFixed Term - 6 months \n\nAbout the role\n\nEast Devon District Council is committed to tackling poverty and this creative\nrole plays an integral part in aiding the production of the Councils anti-\npoverty strategy. In this interesting and varied role, you will need to think\noutside the box and source ways to support people who are facing hardship\nand living in poverty. This will include accessing discretionary funding as\nappropriate and working in partnership with other organisations including\nCitizens Advice East Devon, Department for Works and Pensions, Housing\nAssociations, food banks and community groups in the voluntary sector.\n\nSo, if you are an individual who is passionate about helping to address the\nunderlying root causes of poverty and motivated to be part of building a\nsolution that works for our residents long term, we want to hear from you.\n\nIn return we can offer you a fantastic working environment in our purpose-\nbuilt offices in Honiton, along with flexibility for homeworking.

In addition,\nyoull be encouraged to take advantage of learning and development\nopportunities.\n\nAbout you\n\nWith a good standard of education (GCSEs or equivalent), you will also ideally\nhave knowledge of Welfare Benefits, Council Tax and debt recovery legislation\nas well as up to date knowledge of Housing, local and national policies, and\nthe ability to review finances and budgets to help residents maximise income\nand minimise expenditure. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are\nessential to enable effective communication with a wide range of people,\nexplaining complex legislation in a straightforward way and discussing\nsometimes difficult and sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy.
