Description ABOUT YOU The Facility Management Technician will have the accountability to ensure that duties concerning sample management and maintenance of a compliant regulated laboratory environment within the facility are performed. It will be necessary to work as an established member of the team performing routine sample management procedures plus calibration/maintenance of support equipment. Training and guidance will be given in IPSM internal processes to ensure adherence to the requirements of Sample Management adopted within IPSM. Required skills and experience: Organisation skills, with the ability to effectively time-manage personal workload and work on multiple tasks as required. Communication skills with the ability to clearly convey processes and key messages. A great team mentality, coordinating workloads with others towards the common goal. Good IT literacy and numeracy skills. General Qualification in an appropriate subject such as GCSE’s and/ or A Level’s or some exposure to working within a laboratory setting. Awareness, consideration and application of health and safety procedures. Desirable Good working knowledge of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industry and general laboratory practices. Knowledge and application of appropriate systems and procedures relevant to Sample Management and appropriate Regulatory Standards (knowledge of FDA, EMA and MHRA requirements). ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY Primarily the role will work as an integral part of the Facilities Management Team within the Laboratory. On a daily basis you will have the ability to carry out duties around sample management and maintenance of a compliant regulated laboratory environment. This role will provide you with the opportunity to grow your skills within a closely monitored environment and gain experience of a variety of facility based procedures. Key activities: Processing of client samples into Sample Management system Dispensation and return of samples to and from the laboratory for analysis as required Basic disposal of sample and general laboratory waste into the correct waste management streams Checking and ordering of laboratory consumable and chemical stocks Processing of incoming consumable orders to relevant teams Periodic performance checks on analytical balances Housekeeping of associated sample reception areas Providing support and assistance to operational teams within the laboratory Ensuring work is completed in compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, e.g. Good Documentation Practice, Health and Safety WHAT WE OFFER Join Intertek and become part of our global network of inspiring and entrepreneurial colleagues.
