Job summary The Directorate of Neurosciences in Newcastle has an international reputation as a provider of Neurosciences services. The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive and efficient secretarial and administrative service within the department of Neurology. We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Clinical Administrator to join our team and work alongside Senior Medical Secretaries and other Clinical Administrators carrying out secretarial and administrative duties which will include; direct support to one or more Consultants and supporting the wider clinical team, data entry, communication, clinical and non-clinical typing, proof reading, audio typing, use of the hospital patient administration system, co-ordination of patient's records/test results, co-ordination of outpatient clinics, working on a busy telephone line, amongst other general office duties. Please expand the job details section and read all of the information before applying for the vacancy Main duties of the job The successful candidate will work alongside Senior Medical Secretaries and other Clinical Administrators, carrying out duties which will include, but are not limited to; data entry, making and receiving telephone calls, clinical and non-clinical audio typing and proof reading of VR generated letters, use of the hospital patient administration system, co-ordination of patient's records/test results, co-ordination of outpatient clinics and diary management, amongst other secretarial and administrative duties. The role provides direct secretarial and administrative support to the Neurology Consultant and Specialist Nursing team, ensuring effective diary management and ensuring clinical documentation is completed in a timely manner. Processing of referrals is also a requirement of the role, ensuring any outpatient appointments are scheduled within national guidelines and as per clinical requirement. Management of patient tracking lists and accurate recording of RTT pathways will be required, amongst other necessary task such as attending MDT meetings and recording outcomes when asked.
