Finance Manager
Working Pattern: 37 hrs per week – Monday to Friday
Location: Bilsthorpe, Nottinghamshire NG22 (Hybrid working)
Via is currently looking for a Finance Manager to join our Finance Team based at our Head Office in Bilsthorpe, Nottinghamshire.
You will manage a wide range of accounting services to ensure efficient processing of transactions in accordance with accounting policies and adequate monthly reporting is provided.
The Job
Key areas of responsibility will include:
* Provide technical accounting expertise to ensure consistent and high-quality finance service, providing team support as needed for effective and efficient service delivery.
* Manage the development of process improvement and change for finance processes ensuring financial controls are followed and policies, procedures, and process notes are routinely reviewed, updated, and communicated to the business where necessary.
* Prepare monthly management accounts in collaboration with Finance Business Partners and Commercial teams to support informed decision-making.
* Provide monthly balance sheet and payroll control reconciliations to provide assurance that the financial statements are accurate, taxation and statutory accounts are correct, and take care of tax preparation duties or liaise with external tax accountants for tax preparation.
* Provide support with budget preparations working with budget holders to produce monthly budget reports including forecasting to feed into cash flow.
* Undertake monthly checks to ensure the financial controls are followed in accordance with finance policies and sign off month-end task lists, highlighting non-compliance to senior managers.
* Liaise with software support to produce and analyse reports across all areas to ensure errors are captured, data cleansing and system housekeeping is up to date, and any actions resulting from the analysis are resolved in a timely manner to ensure accuracy and integrity to safeguard the assets of the business.
* Provide technical support for year-end accounts and audit preparation, liaising with external auditors when required.
* Oversee and support the Financial Accounts assistant role and deputise for the Financial Controller.
The Person
Mainly, you will be excited to be a vital part of our Finance team, but there are just a few other things we’d like from you:
* Qualified ACA / ACCA or equivalent technical accounting knowledge gained through practical experience in a Finance environment.
* Strong ICT skills with experience of using applications including Microsoft Word and Excel, email, and the internet.
* Experience of dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
* Proven ability to plan and prioritise workload and respond to stakeholder queries in a busy office environment, and work under your own initiative, to tight deadlines.
