Employment Type: Fixed Term Contract (12-18 months)
Reporting to the Warehouse Team Leader, the Material Controller will act as a client focal point for users both onshore and offshore, responding quickly and accurately to issues/queries raised. You will be required to develop and maintain strong working relationships with client contacts to assist with the efficient operation of all materials movements and storage functions in line with agreed procedures. Duties include:
1. Ensure all work is carried out in the most efficient and effective manner.
2. Provide leadership by establishing clear expectations and demonstrating high standards of work practices and safety conscious behaviour.
3. Responsible for the safe, efficient and cost-effective execution of all ASCO operations undertaken by personnel within the site.
4. Assist in verifying received materials against delivery paperwork and reporting any discrepancies.
5. Provide operational analytical information as required.
6. Inventory management focusing on processing work orders, stock movements, returns, items for repair and scrap disposals.
7. Coordinate work orders for shipping with the sailing schedule, ensuring timely processing, picking, packing and manifesting of all materials.
8. Arrange transportation, inspection, repair or relocation of inventory where required.
9. Deliver stock accuracy through recording all material movements on Company/Client ERP systems.
10. Stock counting of inventory held, investigating discrepancies highlighted by the process.
11. Ensure excellent housekeeping is always maintained across the site, with clear segregation between people and plant.
Minimum Competencies (Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours)
1. Maintains positive work relationships.
2. Computer literate with well-developed IT skills across the Microsoft suite, particularly Excel.
3. Practical understanding of data entry and reporting applications, specifically SAP warehouse transactions and processes.
4. Solutions based with strong planning, organising and numeric skills, and an excellent attention to detail.
5. Accustomed to working effectively in a fast-paced environment, flexible and can adapt to changing workloads and priorities and emergency situations, where high standards are not compromised under pressure.
6. Motivated to achieve the highest standards of performance and customer support, maintaining a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and in writing.
8. Understanding of Health and Safety legislation.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Standard Grades/ National 5 (or equivalent).
2. Dangerous Goods by Sea (IMDG).
