Job summary
An exciting opportunity to join the Pharmacy Purchasing Team team here at UHBW and play a pivotal role in supporting the pharmacy inventory in our Hospitals.
The Pharmacy Purchasing team act as the first point of contact for the procurement of medicines and the processing of associated invoices across UHBW. We strive to provide the best pharmaceutical care for our patients through safe, timely, cost effective procurement and stock management of medicines. Our key stakeholders include clinical pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, technical services staff, pharmaceutical wholesalers and manufacturer's.
The post holder should have excellent communication, IT skills and be able to prioritise workload to accommodate the demands within the team and service. The ideal candidate will have a flexible approach to work and maintain high level of professionalism at all times.
Home working is an option however the post holder is expected to view this arrangement flexibly and must be prepared to attend the workplace as and when required.
Main duties of the job
1. To provide a consistent and reliable support service to all departments within the Trust.
2. To ensure all orders from pharmacies and other departments are dealt with promptly and information from pharmaceutical suppliers concerning orders is acted upon.
3. To ensure credits are claimed in the event of a delivery discrepancy in accordance with claim for credit procedures.
4. To ensure invoices and credit notes are processed promptly. Our target is to ensure all suppliers are paid within 30 days.
5. To liaise with Creditor Paymentsand Pharmaceutical suppliers to resolve financial queries that may arise.

6. Educated to GCSE, grade C or above (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths
