Building Safety and Compliance Officer - Full Time - £39,039 per year Join our Asset Management Team as a Building Safety and Compliance Officer and play a key role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our buildings. As a Building Safety and Compliance Officer, you will have a strong understanding of building maintenance from both a technical and functional standpoint. You will also be knowledgeable about health, safety, and statutory requirements related to occupied residential properties. A degree in a property-related field (ideally focusing on building safety and compliance) is essential. Your role will involve supporting Hightown in meeting its health and safety and legislative obligations, including compliance with the Building Safety Bill, Fire Safety Act, and other related regulations. Key Responsibilities: Support the compliance team in meeting statutory obligations and KPIs, covering areas such as electrical testing, gas servicing, legionella testing, risk assessments, lifting equipment, PAT testing, asbestos, automatic gates, playground equipment, and fire safety. Contribute to the development and maintenance of safety cases for high-risk and complex buildings, ensuring that digital records remain accurate and up to date. Assist the Building Safety Lead Manager in liaising with regulatory and enforcement bodies concerning building and fire safety, including submitting government returns within set deadlines. Help create accurate digital records for each of Hightown’s buildings, including as-built drawings, materials used, and building construction types (e.g., traditional build, timber frame). Conduct building assessments and risk evaluations to support budgeting and planning for necessary works not covered under building guarantee claims.Essential Qualifications & Requirements: A full UK driving licence and access to a car for work-related tasks.
