Position Overview
My client is an almost 100-year-old engineering company seeking a Project/Development Engineer to join their growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects from the initial enquiry through to the production phase, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions across multiple industries, including Defence, rail, Formula 1, and aerospace. This is an excellent opportunity to join a market leader and to work on projects in some of the most critical and exciting industries in the world.
Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee projects from initial enquiry to production, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
2. Accurately price jobs by assessing project requirements and resources needed.
3. Devise innovative solutions to meet project specifications and challenges.
4. Conduct detailed FEA to predict how products will react to real-world forces, vibration, heat, and other physical effects.
5. Perform strain analysis to evaluate the deformation of materials and components under stress.
6. Maintain clear and effective communication with clients to understand their needs and provide regular project updates.
7. Work closely with various departments, including design, production, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless project execution.
Qualifications and Skills
1. Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related time-served apprenticeship.
2. Understanding of engineering processes and techniques.
3. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
5. Understanding of composites would be a distinct advantage.
6. Knowledge of FEA and stress analysis.
7. Must be able to pass security clearance.
