Wilsons Epsom, a well-established, large, multi-franchise main dealer in the Surrey area, is looking for a dedicated motor vehicle apprentice technician to work towards a Level 3 Motor Vehicle and Maintenance Technician Standard. You will be involved with general servicing and repairs.
As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
The company has been trading within the new and used automotive market for over 117 years, offering customers an extensive choice of unbeatable value and service in one location. Their automotive portfolio consists of 11 new car brands: Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Jeep, Hyundai, Nissan, Nismo, Peugeot, MG, Renault, and Dacia. The company also stocks over 1,000 nearly new and used cars on-site.
You will be working alongside a team of experienced technicians, where you will learn to maintain and repair customers' vehicles to an extremely high standard. You will be working on the latest modern vehicle products and technologies, including the latest vehicle operating electronic systems and alternative fueled vehicle systems such as EV (full electric vehicles), hybrid vehicles, and where applicable, hydrogen-powered vehicles.
Your duties will include:
1. General servicing and repairs, working to manufacturer's guidelines to ensure the vehicle operates at its optimum performance.
2. Guided through complex diagnostic and repair procedures involving electronic vehicle operating systems, including ABS systems, electric engine management systems, electronic gearbox systems, electronic steering systems, ADAS operating systems, and infotainment systems.
**Please note you will be required to drive these vehicles; therefore, a full UK driving licence is desirable by the end of your apprenticeship.
Your training plan includes the Level 3 Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship Standard, leading to a Level 3 qualification and compliance with the EU's 2014 F-gas regulation.
Essential qualifications:
1. GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade 4/C) - essential
2. GCSE English (Grade 4/C)
