Purpose of the role
To work closely with the other team members in producing concrete in a safe clean environment and to ensure best possible customer service is always achieved. To be responsible for first impression reaction regarding cleanliness of yard and plant and facilities.
Reporting to the District Operations Manager, the Plant Supervisor is responsible for the overall control of the site.
Key accountabilities
Main duties include the use of computer-based systems for batching and dispatch of concrete, talking to customers both face to face and on the phone, carrying out routine maintenance, supervising contractors and haulers to ensure the safe and efficient running of this site in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act and Environmental Legislation. Emissions are dealt with in accordance with the Environmental Procedures laid down.
* To ensure that sufficient materials are available to meet the demands of production.
* To carry out routine maintenance and inspection for defects and record actions accordingly.
* To report any defect, action or occurrence which may jeopardize the operation in any respect of health & safety, the environment, product quality or service.
* To be familiar with and ensure full compliance with the policies issued on health & safety, the environment.
* Quality control, fraud prevention and the Competition Act.
* To ensure that the site, plant, and associated buildings are kept in a clean, tidy, and safe condition always.
* To maintain the security of the site, plant, and associated buildings always.
* To effectively operate the batching plant to the standards required by company policy and to improve & maintain site presentation to company guidelines.
* To accurately batch concrete/mortar in accordance with the relevant procedures.
* To ensure that the plant is adequately always stocked with approved materials, including additives and fuel.
* To ensure that all material tickets are entered correctly on the dates received notify the area admin clerk of any discrepancies.
* To ensure that all delivery tickets requiring action are put on hold immediately and CRDF form raised and distributed appropriately to be signed off.
* To ensure CRDF form has as much useful information as possible for the ticket to be actioned in a timely manner.
In addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required, also to provide cover for absences / leave as per business requirements.
Education/Qualification
* GCSE grade 4+ Equivalent to a C in Math’s and English.
