The Company A market leading 3PL business based in Spalding is looking to hire a new Transport Planner to help support their business in their plans for exponential growth. The Role Transport Planner Working in a fast-paced, busy office environment, and reporting to the Transport Manager, the new Transport Planner will take responsibility for all the transport planning for this operation. You will have the opportunity to plan all the routes and adapt as you see fit when demands change. You will be motivated by a revenue per vehicle target, having to think commercially about fuel costs, drivers hours and backhauls. Responsibilities include: Planning routes daily across the UK. Communicating with drivers. Communicating with customers Re-planning routes throughout the week as the plan changes. Managing WTDs, drivers hours and other legislation. Always looking for answers to issues that arise throughout the day. Managing the revenue per vehicle. Working under pressure. Negotiating Backhauls with external hauliers. Working hours Monday to Friday 08:30 17:00 typically. The Skills Required Transport Planner The ideal candidate for the Transport Planner role will have performed already in a similar role within logistics. They will also have skills and experiences clearly demonstrated in their CV in the following: 1 years transport planning experience Experience in a 3PL / Haulier is advantageous The ability to plan using manual systems not always relying on a planning system. Experience with backhauls and commercial planning is highly desirable An analytical approach to work MS Excel proficient user Ability to be calm under pressure. Outstanding geographic knowledge of the East Midlands. Able to commute daily to Spalding ADZN1_UKTJ
