We conduct various engagements across multiple sectors in the UK and internationally, including GAP Analysis, Remediation Work, Outsourced DPO Services, DPIA's, responding to DSARs and data breaches, staff training, and Policy/Document writing.
We've set ambitious expansion plans for the next 5 and 10 years. To support this growth, we're seeking a Data Protection Consultant to join our team.
The ideal candidate should have a pragmatic approach to data protection, identifying risk boundaries for clients. You'll work independently and manage your time effectively, developing strong relationships with clients through confident communication and excellent account management skills.
Duties:
* Inform, advise, and issue recommendations to clients on compliance with data protection laws, including GDPR, PECR, and FOI.
* Review and develop client policies and guidelines related to data protection.
* Identify business processes and systems that relate to personal data and are in-scope for GDPR.
* Review commercial agreements and contracts, including Data Processing agreements with data processors.
* Manage escalated queries, including Subject Access Requests and Data Breach incidents, bringing them to resolution by developing effective solutions.
* Deliver and roll out staff awareness training to achieve compliance and foster a culture of data privacy within the organisation.
* Develop communications strategies aligned with clients' objectives to engage key stakeholders.
* Collaborate with clients on data protection documentation, including Data Protection Impact Assessments, ROPA's Legitimate Interest Assessments, and Policy drafting.
* Represent clients when liaising with Supervisory Authorities in the event of data protection complaints and data breach notifications.
* Promote best practices and serve as a contact point for data protection queries.
Requirements:
* A customer-centric and account management approach is critical for this role.
* Minimum two years of experience in a data protection role.
* Comprehensive knowledge of UK data protection law, particularly the Data Protection Principles.
* Demonstrable experience in delivering data protection work, including responding to rights requests, personal data breaches, and leading on Data Protection Impact Assessments.
* Demonstrable experience in communicating data protection concepts to senior management teams.
* Able to travel across the UK or Europe as required, subject to agreed travel expenses and itinerary.
Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
