Teaching Personnel is looking for SEMH Support Workers to work with students who struggle with behavioural challenges, trauma, anxiety, and disengagement from education. Many of these pupils have Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) and require specialist support to build resilience, develop coping strategies, and re-engage with learning.
This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with experience in education, youth work, social care, or mental health support who are keen to work in primary, secondary, or specialist settings. As an SEMH Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in helping students manage their emotions, develop confidence, and engage positively in education. You'll work one-on-one or in small groups, offering tailored support based on individual needs.
Responsibilities:
1. Implement personalised behaviour and emotional support strategies to help students self-regulate and thrive in the classroom.
2. Provide mentoring and pastoral support, helping students navigate social and emotional challenges.
3. Assist with reintegration plans for students returning to school after exclusions or prolonged absences.
4. Work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to create an environment that supports positive learning and emotional well-being.
5. Encourage resilience, self-esteem, and independence through structured interventions and targeted support.
6. De-escalate challenging situations calmly and effectively, following best practices in behaviour management.
