An exciting opportunity has arisen within Older Peoples services at York Hospital. We are looking to recruit an experienced nurse into the Band 7 Ward Sister/Charge Nurse role on Ward 37.
This ward has 21 beds and provides care for older people with Dementia and Delirium. The successful candidate will either be a RN or RMN and have at least 2 years post registration experience at band 6 or equivalent in an acute environment.

This post will give an opportunity for further professional development and we are looking for someone who is capable of lateral thinking and will work in an innovative manner with the resources available.
Main duties of the job
Our successful candidate will consistently drive excellent clinical quality standards to a vulnerable patient group by providing visible clinical leadership to the team and support them in the delivery of high quality, effective and evidence based care.
Background knowledge of safeguarding, to protect vulnerable adults is desirable but not essential as training will be given. It is our duty to keep patients in our care safe and falls prevention is important to us. Focus will be on patient experience, patient safety and providing assurance that standards are met for every patient, every time.

DBS Checks
Please be aware that all new employees starting work with us will be charged for the cost of their DBS check if it is required for the role. The cost will be deducted from your salary either in 1 payment or over a six month period once you start employment. By applying you are agreeing to this undertaking. If you are successful you will be asked to confirm if you wish to pay in one amount or in instalments. The charges are currently £27.38 for a standard check and £55.38 for an enhanced check. The level of check will be determined by the post you are applying for.
