Income Officer
Location: Birmingham
Pay Rate: £18-£22 per hour (via umbrella)

Are you an experienced Income Officer looking for a new challenge? We are working with a respected housing organisation in Birmingham seeking a dedicated professional to join their team on a temp-to-perm basis.
Key Responsibilities of an Income Officer:
Managing rent accounts to minimise arrears and maximise income collection.
Working with tenants to agree on affordable payment plans and providing advice on budgeting and financial management.
Issuing arrears letters, notices, and agreements in line with organisational policies.
Representing the organisation at court hearings and ensuring compliance with legal processes.
Supporting tenants to sustain their tenancies by signposting to relevant support services.
Maintaining accurate records and updating housing systems with all tenant interactions.
Monitoring and escalating cases as needed, including preparing cases for eviction proceedings.About You:
Proven experience in income recovery, rent arrears, or debt management within social housing.
Strong knowledge of income collection processes, housing law, and welfare benefits.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills to handle sensitive tenant situations effectively.
Ability to manage a busy caseload, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of housing systems and software is desirable.Important Information:
This is an office-based role, working full-time Monday to Friday.
