Job Title: Team Leader
Reports to: Service Manager
Job Overview: To provide leadership to the Support staff within the service following current best practices, according to policy and procedures, agreed-on standards, legislative requirements, and relevant regulations, under the direction of the Manager.
Location: The service premises, but you may be required to work from other locations at the company's discretion and with appropriate notice.
Working Hours: Contracted hours, shift work as agreed with the Manager.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Ensure service users are at the heart of the Support delivery and their wishes and preferences enhance their wellbeing.
2. Supervise staff and ensure that all staff contribute to the efficient running of the service.
3. Promote and protect the welfare of those individuals supported by the service.
4. Develop effective working relationships with other employees within the service.
5. Work in cooperation with members of multidisciplinary teams to maximise opportunities for service users.
6. Seek opportunities for personal and professional growth.
7. Attend statutory training and any other training as directed by management.
Person Specification:
1. Good English - written and verbal.
2. Vocational qualification level 3 Health and Social Care.
3. Supervisory or management qualification.
4. Leadership Skills.
5. Ability to induct and orientate new employees to the job role and service.
6. Organise and plan supervision and appraisals for Support staff.
7. Provide and oversee staff, supporting people/assistance as they accomplish daily tasks.
8. Support with medication following the service's policies and procedures.
9. Communicate any problems, concerns or changes to service users' family members as needed.
10. Problem-solving Skills.
11. Previous experience of working in a similar environment.
12. Prior experience of working in a similar supervisory role.
13. Experience in working with service users, in particular, those that may have additional support needs.
14. Knowledge of rota planning ensuring adequate staff on duty with correct skill mix and fair allocation of off duty/annual leave.
