Job Description
Kingston College are currently seeking a Head of Section Business (16-19). The curriculum currently includes students on 16-18 study programmes and T Levels, adult programmes including access and part time adult programmes as well as a substantial HE provision. The focus is on ensuring that current and future students receive a first-class experience that enables them to progress and attain their qualifications at high levels and to develop long-lasting learning and employability skills.
Specifically, the Head of Section will be responsible for the leadership, management, and monitoring of programmes within the Section and the teams delivering these programmes, ensuring that the success rates and value-added performance improves towards outstanding. You will also oversee the recruitment, conduct and progress of all students on all programmes within this Section and ensure that all the Sections programmes meet the needs, standards and requirements of all partners, including, awarding bodies, employers and higher education institutions.
As our Head of Section, you will hold a degree or relevant professional qualification in an appropriate subject, hold a teaching qualification (or willing to work towards) and have excellent teaching skills, recognised as a good or better teacher. Youll have experience of leading in a BTEC Business curriculum area and have a track record of making sustained improvements.
With a strong vision for the improvement and development of the curriculum area, you will have high standards and expectations as well as current knowledge of impending curriculum changes and the implications for teaching and learning strategies. You will have experience of successfully monitoring and supporting at-risk learners to achieve or exceed their potential and have experience of managing, supporting, and developing staff.
