Role Details Jobe Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant Sector: Primary School Job Type: Full Time Start Date: 06/01/2025 Location: Swansea Schedule: Monday to Friday (8:30am – 3:30pm) Key Responsibilities - Safeguarding children - Work on a 1:1 basis and in small groups supporting the individual in and out of the classroom - Assist in developing and implementing individualised interventions and strategies. - Monitor pupils behaviour, promote positive behaviour and emotional resilience - Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to adapt lesson content and create an inclusive and supportive learning environment - Support individual during unstructured times such as lunch and break times. - Encourage social interaction with other pupils - Build positive relationships with the individual and other pupils whilst acting as a role model and building trust. Requirements - Minimum of GCSE’s in English and Mathematics - Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential - Eligibility to work in the UK and ability to pass enhanced DBS checks. - Driving Licence ( not essential but preferred) What We Are Looking For - Previous experience working with SEMH needs or other behavioural needs, preferably in an education or care setting - A proactive, patient, and empathetic approach to working with the individual - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff - Positive attitude, excellent work ethic, and a proactive approach to problem solving - Ability to deal with challenging behaviour and seek support when required Benefits of Working Through Teaching Personnel - Competitive daily rates £75- £90 per day, depending on experience - Access to free or subsidised CPD courses; including ALN specific training, safeguarding, and behaviour management - Access to dedicated consultants for on-going support and career advice - Flexible working opportunities; day to day, part time, and full time - Potential opportunities for long term and permanent roles in schools All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
