Salary: Hourly rate From £12.93
Starting day:13th January 2025
To be considered for this role, you must have:
A clean driving licence.
The ability to traverse a minimum of 2 miles per day and work a maximum of 7.5 hours a day.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
The ability to work with minimum supervision and as part of a team.
Flexibility to work in all weather conditions and overtime if required.
Willingness to work across the borough.
Responsibilities:
As a Neighbourhood Care Operative, you will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the local community. Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting in the preparation of graves for burials, including excavations and supporting with hand tools and mechanical digger assistant.
Dressing of graves and attendance/duties at ceremonies.
Backfilling and aftercare of graves, including routine maintenance and topping up.
Dealing with public enquiries and complaints in a sympathetic manner.
Erection of plinths and checking headstones for damage.
Keeping roads, pathways, and open spaces clear from debris, litter, and leaves.
Emptying litter bins and undertaking ground maintenance duties such as lawn care, shrub and flower bed maintenance, pruning, strimming, hedge cutting, and edging off.
Using grass cutting equipment, mowers, blowers, and strimmers.
Safely operating plant and equipment.
Completion of worksheets and winter gritting footpath areas.
Driving duties associated with the role.
Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):
CSCS card (advantageous).
DBS clearance (advantageous).
