Dementia Club Coordinator

Part Time, 4 days per week, the client will consider a job share for this role.

£13.50-£14.50 p/h
Summary of the role:
Operates the Club from Monday to Thursday each week for the benefit of its members, ensuring their wellbeing, safety and comfort in a relaxed and non-challenging atmosphere. Ensures that there is adequate cover at all times. Liaises with carers on members’ needs and answers enquiries from prospective members.
Duties:
1. Open the Club by 9.30am Monday to Thursday each week and operate it in line with the Daily Routine drawn up by the Trustees.
2. Complete the attendance register daily.
3. Supervise the Friday Club Manager and be her first point of reference on matters and issues relating to the running and staffing of the Club.
4. Maintain regular liaison with the Club’s Trustees, informing them immediately of any problems relating to a member’s wellbeing, the provision of adequate cover or matters arising with either the Club premises or the Fairfield Centre.
5. Arrange cover for Club Managers and Volunteers as necessary to ensure that the Club is adequately manned during holidays and unplanned absences.
6. Organise outings for Club members to destinations that provide assurance of their wellbeing, ensure adequate assistance is in place for the trip and that transport facilities are arranged.
7. Answer enquiries from members of the public interested in the Club’s services and arrange Trial Days for prospective members.
8. Using the proforma drawn up by the Trustees, issue an introductory letter to new members/carers attaching relevant forms for completion prior to the new member’s first day.
9. Ensure that the appropriate written authority from a carer is in place prior to administering medication to a Club member.
10. Complete the Monthly Report detailing members’ attendance and providing relevant information and comments. Send report to line manager for distribution to the Trustees.
11. Ensure that details of members & carers held in the red folder in the locked white cupboard are kept up to date.
12. Inform the Trustee responsible for the Club personnel immediately that you are aware that you cannot attend as Duty Manager so that a replacement can be found. Follow the procedure laid down by the Trustees in the attached document “Procedure When Club Manager Is Unable To Open And Manage The Club.”
