Key responsibilities will include:
* Work to a high standard to undertake inspections, services, and repairs of our fleet of HGV vehicles and other company vehicles.
* Ability to follow planned work schedules and use strong communication and teamwork skills with the transport administration function to ensure that the requirements of the company ‘O Licence’ are met.
* Carry out inspections, servicing, and repairs of various pieces of plant and machinery as required.
* Ability to work independently on routine servicing and site breakdowns ensuring that work is controlled and carried out efficiently.
* Meet deadlines as required.
* Diagnose and rectify electrical and mechanical faults within the fleet when they arise.
* Compliance with company health and safety policies and guidance documentation
* Assisting with MOT preparation and inspections when needed.
* Carry out any other reasonable task which may arise from time to time according to the needs of the workshop.
Essential requirements:
* Qualified HGV Mechanic
* Previous experience in a workshop environment
* Full UK driving licence.
Desirable requirements:
* HGV licence
* Working knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
* Working knowledge of vehicle inspection standards and scheduled maintenance requirements
