An opportunity has arisen for an Employment Support Worker based at Worklink, Sewerby, Bridlington.
Worklink is a team within the Directorate of Adults Specialist Services supporting adults who have a learning disability or autism to obtain paid employment.
The Employment Support Worker will work as part of an enthusiastic team. The post holder will be responsible for providing work-based training to individuals with a learning disability and autism, enabling them to learn practical, social, and independence skills.
You will teach horticulture skills that facilitate progression towards and into employment. We are looking for an enthusiastic and focused individual who has drive and energy. You must be able to work collaboratively and possess excellent communication skills.
This role can be physically demanding, requiring you to work six hours daily from Monday to Friday, 9 am to 3 pm.
You will ensure that the service operates in a safe and effective manner on a day-to-day basis and implement and adhere to all service procedures, including health and safety protocols. All relevant training will be provided. The successful candidate will need to complete The Care Certificate upon commencement of the post, which will be provided by the ERYC and will take approximately 12 weeks.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience working with adults with a learning disability.
Candidates should possess the necessary written and verbal communication skills to ensure that we maintain a high standard of service.

* Have an understanding of issues affecting vulnerable people.
* Be able to respond positively to the changing needs of clients and the service.
* Have some knowledge of horticulture or an interest in it.
