Engineering Manager (Projects) Wakefield Your New Role To lead the Projects Engineering team within the Private Networks business. Fully accountable for H&S, technical development of engineers, technical delivery excellence and supporting the sales team to identify the correct technical solution. To operate as a member of the Private Networks senior leadership team, building strong working relationships with your peers and driving positive change across the business. To work closely with the Operations Manager (Projects) to ensure sufficient available and suitably skilled resource whilst maximising utilisation. To work closely with the Sales Leaders to support key account planning, broadening and deepening customer relationships and ensuring high quality delivery. Principal Accountabilities: Ensure the Engineering Team operates at the highest standards of Health & Safety. Drive Project Business growth and profitability – ensuring sufficient skilled, trained and competent resource is available to meet demand. Ensure customer satisfaction through technical delivery excellence throughout the project delivery. Ensure compliance with Ipsum processes and driving of continuous improvement. Manage resources effectively to maximise utilisation. Ensure lessons learnt & best practices are embedded in engineering delivery process and culture. This is key to raise competitiveness and profitability. Lead, Develop and Motivate the Engineering Team to ensure talent retention, personal development and high level of engagement. Be recognised as an active ambassador of Ipsum. About You Essential Qualifications/Skills/Experience Strong Technical knowledge in the HV & LV Industry The ability to motivate and engage a team Strong decision making capability and strong implementation skills High level of resilience Good communication skills Integrity Critical thinking and problem solving Adaptability Flexibility Team Player Desirable Qualifications/Skills/Experience Relevant Engineering Qualification (ONC/HNC or equivalent) Recognised Safety qualification (IOSH/NEBOSH or equivalent) Direct leadership experience in a technical engineering environment Knowledge and experience of driving H&S culture, compliance and safe systems of work. Knowledge and experience in providing technical advice/technical problem solving to field based engineers. Experience of leading, managing and developing a team of people. Experience working in a fast paced customer facing environment.
