About the role
Working Monday – Friday, (Rotating Shifts: 08:00 – 16:00 Week 1 | 15:00 – 23:00 Week 2), you will be responsible for:
* Ensure smooth daily operations, making decisions to support route goals.
* Act as the point of contact in the absence of the department supervisor, ensuring customer service principles are upheld.
* Support onboarding and development of new team members, including performance plans and learning journeys.
* Promote a customer-first culture while addressing and reporting any behavioural concerns.
* Assist in ensuring timely customer announcements in line with management directives.
* Audit and monitor staff adherence to correct rate applications, providing feedback to the supervisor.
* Maintain and develop the local Health & Safety system, supporting department leads in ensuring compliance and reporting to the General Manager.
About you
The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills, demonstrating the ability to take initiative and make informed decisions independently. They will possess knowledge of shipping and Brexit processes, ensuring compliance and efficiency in operations. As an excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing, they will be highly literate and numerate, capable of conveying information clearly. They will work effectively with colleagues to ensure tasks are completed efficiently, fostering strong working relationships. With exceptional time management skills, they will remain adaptable to change, proactively identifying and implementing initiatives. A solid understanding of data analytics and proficiency in computer systems will enable them to interpret information accurately and support operational improvements.
